We've redesigned the Home dashboard to give you a clearer, more focused starting point each day.

A modern new look

Everything you're used to is still right where you left it. We've updated the layout with a cleaner design and improved visual structure so key information is easier to scan at a glance. Same dashboard, just a whole lot smoother.

Product Updates Carousel

You'll notice a brand new addition to your Home screen. The Product Updates carousel surfaces the latest platform improvements and feature releases in one spot, so you'll always know what's changed right from where you work. As we continue to ship updates, the carousel will automatically keep you in the loop so nothing slips through the cracks.

Medsender Release Notes (January)

We are excited to share our latest Medsender updates. This release focuses on faster performance, improved usability, expanded EMR integrations, and new automation capabilities designed to reduce manual work and keep teams moving efficiently.


🛠️ User Experience and Performance Improvements

Bulk Send

You can now send up to 50 records to multiple recipients in a single action, eliminating the need to send files one by one and significantly speeding up outbound workflows.

Referral Management Enhancements

Experience advanced filtering by multiple assignees and statuses simultaneously, along with linked reply tracking that ensures all referral replies appear in your Sent Inbox.

Larger Touch Zones for Checkboxes

We have increased the selectable area around checkboxes to make high-volume record selection easier and more accurate.

Role-Based Access Control

Admins now have granular control over workspace access, allowing per-user permissions for inboxes and referrals to ensure teams see only the specific tools they need.

Next/Previous Navigation

Move through Inbox, Sent, and Referral records using Next and Previous navigation directly within the slide-out viewer, removing the need to close and reopen records.

Patient Header Stamp

Documents can automatically include a patient header stamp with name and date of birth on every page, with fully configurable placement to fit your specific workflow.

MAIRA Inbound Redesign

The MAIRA inbound experience has been redesigned to match the outbound interface, making call log and transcript reviews much clearer.

Speed Boosts

We are continuing to push updates that significantly improve load times for large inboxes, referrals, and EMR upload tracking across the platform.


🔌 EMR Integration Updates

  • AI-Powered Insurance Authorization (ModMed only): Automatically extract key authorization numbers, dates, and visit counts from referrals and sync them directly to the patient authorization section in EMA.
  • Queued Faxes (BETA ModMed only): ModMed queued faxes can now be automatically sent from Medsender using configurable filters to streamline your outbound document flow. Check it out in your toggle features tab!
  • Provider Tasking (Tebra/Kareo): Tasks/notes can now be assigned directly to providers during chart creation, and Tebra searches now default to active patients for a cleaner experience.

Keep an eye out for these powerful automation tools arriving in your account shortly:

  • Task Routing Rules (EMA users only): We are launching a more granular, modular auto-tasking system. You will be able to use "if-then" logic to route documents based on a combination of Category and color-coded Labels. 
  • Multi-Patient Indicator: Identify documents containing multiple patients at a glance with a new visual badge. Hovering over the badge will display all names and dates of birth without opening the record.

Your Admin Dashboard Just Got a Major Upgrade ✨

We heard you. The admin dashboard needed a makeover!

We've rebuilt the admin dashboard with a completely new design that's faster, sleeker, and more comfortable to use.

Here's what's new:

  • Dark mode is here - the old light-only interface now supports both light and dark themes. Switch between them anytime based on your preference!
  • Horizontal menu to sidebar navigation - we've reorganized the top menu bar into a cleaner sidebar layout, making all admin functions easier to find and access
  • Upgraded form controls - dropdowns and multi-select fields are now powered by smarter components that make searching and selecting options faster and more intuitive
  • Faster performance - the entire interface has been rebuilt for quicker page loads and smoother interactions
  • Modern visual design - refined typography, better spacing, and cleaner layouts replace the old styling

Your workflows, data, and settings remain exactly the same, just wrapped in a much better interface!

✂ Stop manually splitting documents. Auto-Split uses AI to detect when a document should be divided into multiple records and suggests exactly how to split it. Review the recommendation, make edits if needed, and split in seconds! 

  • When Auto-Split appears
    You’ll see an AI Suggestion banner when the system detects:
    • Multiple patients in one document
    • Different document categories bundled together
    • Clear content breaks between distinct records

    Once a document arrives, the AI:
    • Analyzes content and identifies logical split points
    • Suggests page ranges and generates record titles
    • Detects patient details (name, DOB) for each split
    • Explains the reasoning behind each suggestion
    • Provides a PDF preview of each new record

Click “Review Split Suggestion” or select the ✂️ AI icon to instantly preview each record, make any quick edits you want, and approve with confidence.

Say Goodbye to Sideways Faxes! Auto-Rotate is Here (Beta)

We’re excited to introduce Auto-Rotate! Medsender now automatically detects and rotates pages to ensure faxes are properly oriented before processing. When you receive faxes that may have been sent upside down or sideways, our OCR feature will now detect the correct orientation and rotate the pages accordingly. 

Please note that this feature is currently in Beta. While it works well for most documents, the auto-rotation accuracy may vary on pages with poor image quality or significant blurriness. The clearer and sharper your document images are, the more reliably the system can detect and correct the orientation. 

We're continuing to refine this feature and welcome your feedback as we work to make document processing even more seamless!

Release Notes Recap

We're excited to share the latest updates to Medsender! We've enhanced your experience with new features, improved workflows, and better integrations. Here's what's new in case you missed it!

 🎯 Referral Management

Enhanced Analytics Dashboard

Your Referral analytics dashboard now shows even more valuable insights to help you track referral performance. We've added a chart creation column to show which referrals have successfully had a patient's charts created. Additionally, the referral report has been optimized and paginated for faster loading, making it easier to work with large volumes of referrals.

Automatic Referral Status Updates (ModMed API Users)

For practices with ModMed API, referral statuses now automatically stay in sync with your appointments. When you mark an appointment as "Completed" in EMA, the referral status in Medsender will automatically update to "Completed." The same applies for "Cancelled" and "No Show" statuses—saving you time and ensuring your referral tracking stays accurate without manual updates.

SMS Export to Patient Charts (ModMed Users Only) 

SMS messages sent through Medsender's referral management can now be exported directly to patient charts in EMA. This ensures all patient communications are properly documented and accessible where you need them.

Role-Based Analytics Access

We've added role-based access controls for the analytics page in the admin dashboard. Now non-admin users can be granted specific access to view analytics without needing full admin privileges. This gives you more flexibility in how you share insights across your team while maintaining appropriate security controls.

Better Time Display

Referral analytics now display time periods. Instead of showing "48 hours," you'll now see "2 days" when viewing referrals that are older than 24 hours, making it easier to quickly understand timelines at a glance.

 📞 Voice AI Enhancements

Rate MAIRA's Call Quality

You can now provide feedback on Voice AI calls directly in the web app. When reviewing call logs for MAIRA, you'll see thumbs up and thumbs down buttons to quickly rate call quality. You can also leave detailed comments for our team to review, helping us continuously improve the Voice AI experience for your practice.

 🏥 EMR Integration Improvements

Ordering Provider Information (EMA)

For documents categorized as "Results - Radiology" in EMA, the ordering provider information is now automatically saved to the patient chart.

 📧 Email & Communication

Emailed Records Support

You can now use the "Notify" button for emailed records giving you more options for how you handle incoming documents.

Email Provisioning

Developers working with our API can now provision new email addresses directly through the platform, streamlining the setup process for email-to-fax workflows.

📋 Distribution Lists

CSV Import

You no longer need to manually enter contacts one by one! You can now import distribution lists via CSV file upload, making it quick and easy to set up large contact lists.

Expanded Capacity

Distribution lists now support up to 3,000 contacts (increased from the previous limit of 50), with optimized 8-hour linear batching to ensure reliable delivery of your documents to large recipient groups.

 📠 Fax Management

Default Fax Number Selection

You can now choose a default fax number in your Settings page. This number will be automatically used when you send faxes from your EMR via Medsender's one-click send, eliminating the need to select it each time. If you haven't set a default, the system will use a fax number from your available list.

🎉 NEW FEATURE: Apply Signature or Text to All Pages!

We are thrilled to announce a new time saving update: you can now instantly apply your signature or text to all pages of a multi-page document! This eliminates the need for manual placement on every single page.

Sign or add text once, apply everywhere! Simply place your signature or text on one page, and duplicate it across all other pages with ease.

Follow these quick steps to apply your signature or text across an entire document:
How to Apply to All Pages:

  1. Sign/Add Text to the First Page:
    Click "Sign Document" or add a textbox from the toolbar.
    Place your signature or text in the desired location on the first page.
  2. Select Your Signature/Text:
    Click on the signature or text you just placed to select it.
  3. Apply to All Pages:


    With the signature or text box selected, locate the new "Apply to All Pages" icon (double square icon).
    Choose "Apply to All Pages Icon."
    Confirm your selection by clicking "Yes, Apply" when prompted: "This will create a copy of the selected signature on all pages with matching orientation. Continue?"
  4. Save Changes:
    Click "Save Changes" to save your edits! 

Quick Tips!
Position first: Ensure your signature or text is placed correctly on the first page before applying it to all others.
Preview before saving: Scroll through all pages to confirm the positioning is as desired.
Edit individually: You can still adjust the position of signatures or text on any individual page after applying to all.
